The Winners Speak - 2009 I Love My Librarian Awards
On Dec. 3, American Library Association, New York Times, and Carnegie Corporation of New York presented the 2009 I Love My Librarian Awards in New York City. AL Focus was there to document the whole thing, with this great video interview featuring some of this year’s librarian winners.
When asked what users should expect from their local librarians, Cleveland Public Library Administrator Karen E. Martines replied: “to walk out that door with your question fully answered.”
Another winner, Dana Thomas of Fort Myers, FL, defined herself as “energetic, enthusiastic media specialist,” with the ability to “make learning and reading fun.” Does your local librarian fit this description? This award could be a great way to honor their outstanding service. Let us know about them by leaving a comment below or contacting us via Twitter or Facebook.
