My Library

I’ve had many great experiences in the library; the resources have helped me countless times before.

Once I forgot to do my essay in school and I couldn’t get any information on-line so I went to the library. At my library, the Romeo Graubner Library, there is a selection of books and a nice staff. With the help of the staff I found two books that gave me all of the information that I needed to complete the essay. The library helped me out of that situation.

Another time I forgot the book that I was reading at school over the weekend so I looked to the library for help. I went to the library and used the computer to search my book and found it with ease. The computers in my library help because you can search information if you don’t have a computer at home or you can find books easily instead of looking for them the hard way. Another situation solved by my library.

When I am bored and can’t seem to find a single thing to do I go to the library. At the library I search my favorite line of books, Bleach (a Japanese manga by Tite Kubo), and Full Metal Alchemist (a Japanese manga by Hiromu Arakawa). These are my favorite series of books and I find them quite fun to read, the library has most of the books that I need so far (I haven’t gotten very far). Once in a while I might search for an actual novel to read but that is very rare.

The library I go to is a very well organized library and has a lot of fun activities planned for the younger kids to help them get reading. They have a summer reading program in which you get a map and every time you finish a book you stamp one of the spaces on the map. If you get to the end of the map you then get to enter for a prize and it helps the kids read because they’re eager to win the prizes. I think this is a creative way to get the kids reading, some of the prizes are donated by people in the community.

I believe that if libraries don’t have computers or programs like that of the Romeo Graubner Library they should look into it, because it makes the library a lot more likable. If you want to see some changes in your library you should put yourself into it as much as you can because it will help change the community. If you can’t do it alone look to find a group of friends or people around the community to help you.

That is the importance of the Romeo Graubner Library to me.
