Love for a Book
by Molly Head
I love Romeo community libraries. They have always been a favorite place to go. The library I go to is Romeo Graubner library. I really like going there to get books, magazines and do research when my computer breaks. When I was a kid I always did the summer reading programs and played in the kid area. All the cool things they got going on there and the display cases are another thing I like going there.
Many years ago when I was about the ages 6-9 I did the summer reading programs every summer. I don’t think I ever won anything but it was really fun, looking at the cool prizes, it made reading a little more fun for me, because I wasn’t into reading back then as I am now. So it was like a competition, which made me want to read more so I really got into reading. Also when I was younger I really like the kid area, with the animal chairs and stuffed animals and just all the cool decoration. I liked sitting in those animal chairs and reading book, I think I was always afraid to sit in the skunk one though. That’s not the only reason though, I’ve got many more.
I always like there displays, with all the stuff going on. Sometimes they got those baskets with a whole bunch of book and other stuff in them. I really like to look to see whats in them. I think one time I went to the library with a friend to see an animal show there. It was really exciting; it got to see a giant snake. I always had tons of fun.
I love reading so much. Every time I go there I get a huge stack of books, about 7, and a magazine. I’m into romance and mystery stories and that’s what I get all the time. Sometime I have to do research on the computer there, because my computer breaks. One time I had a huge reading project due the next day and I had to edit some and print when my computer crashed. So I had to run to the library and work on it, I got an “A”. Every chance I get I’m there placing holds or sitting in the teen section staring at the shelves looking for what books I’m going to read the next week. I like that when the library I go to doesn’t have the book I want then I can check out the other libraries in the area and just place a hold and in about a week I can pick it up. This is random, but I like the cool chairs they have in the teen section the ones that are kind of like a wave. There fun to sit in and read, but mighty hard to get out of, especially if you have a giant stack of books.
Those just happen to be some of the reason I like Romeo District libraries, like having many, many books. They always got thing going on, like summer reading programs and well this Contest I’m entering right now, and the cool book displays. I hope that to be going to these libraries for a long time.
