Luis Alberto Urrea Talks Libraries
in
An author discusses how libraries helped him build his career.
Luis Alberto Urrea, author of books such as Into the Beautiful North, The Hummingbird's Daughter, and The Devil's Highway, spoke at the recent Public Library Association National Conference in Portland, Oregon.
After his speech, he spoke to American Libraries magazine about how libraries helped him to build his career, and why people who don't use libraries should. Going to the library isn't like having to eat your broccoli; it's more like getting extra dessert.
A native of Tijuana, Mexico, Urrea also spoke in Spanish about the same topics.
