National Bookmobile Day is April 11!

Bookmobile, Baltimore County (Md.) Public Libraries. Although the first nationally celebrated Bookmobile Day occurred in 2010, bookmobiles themselves have been on the roads and in the hearts of citizens around the world for more than a century.  Sometime between 1857 and 1859, a horse-drawn collection of books began making the rounds in Cumbria, a non-metropolitan county in North West England.
