  • LITA/Ex Libris Student Writing Award
    The award is given for the best unpublished manuscript on a topic in the area of libraries and information technology written by a student or students enrolled in an ALA-accredited library and information studies graduate program.
  • Reference Services Press Award
    Established in 1985 and sponsored by Reference Services Press, this award constitutes a plaque and $2,500 cash. It recognizes the most outstanding article published in RUSQ during the preceding two-volume year.
  • ACRL Ilene F. Rockman Instruction Publications of the Year Award
    This annual award recognizes an outstanding publication related to instruction in an academic/research library environment published in the preceding two years.
  • Best of LRTS Award (ALCTS)
    Given to the author(s) of the best paper published each year in the official journal of the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services, Library Resources & Technical Services.
  • Dain (Phyllis) Library History
    The Phyllis Dain Library History Dissertation Award, named in honor of a library historian widely known as a supportive advisor and mentor as well as a rigorous scholar and thinker, recognizes outstanding dissertations in the general area of library history. $500 and a certificate are given for a work that embodies original research on a significant topic relating to the history of books, libraries, librarianship or information science.
  • LRRT Jesse H. Shera Award for the Support of Dissertation Research
    The Jesse H Shera Award for the Support of Dissertation Research is given to provide recognition and monetary support for dissertation research employing exemplary research design and methods.
  • RUSA Louis Shores/Greenwood Publishing Group Award
    Established by RUSA in 1990, this award recognizes an individual reviewer, group, editor, review medium or organization for excellence in book reviewing and other media for libraries.
  • Shera (Jesse H.) Award for Distinguished Published Research
    Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research is given for a research articles published in English during the calendar year, nominated by any member of LRRT or by the editors of research journals in the field of library and information studies.
  • Winsor (Justin) Prize Essay
    Justin Winsor Prize for Library History Essay, named in honor of the distinguished 19th century librarian, historian, and bibliographer who was also ALA's first president, consists of a $500 cash award. It includes an invitation to have the winner's paper considered for publication in Libraries and Culture.
