About Us
Atyourlibrary.org is the public website for the American Library Association’s public awareness campaign, the Campaign for America’s Libraries, which promotes the value of libraries and librarians.
The goal of www.atyourlibrary.org is to provide information and recommended resources that everyone can take advantage of by connecting with their local library and librarians.
New articles on a variety of topics are uploaded every week and content changes daily. We write extensively about subjects library users and other interested people have told us they are interested in. That includes breaking news and how-tos and tips for parents and kids, teenagers, seniors, and job seekers. We also cover the arts and entertainment and the greening of America.
Where available, recommended resources are linked to the World Cat database, which provides a list of the nearest libraries with the recommended item.
We encourage you to visit your local library to find out how you can benefit from the knowledge of your librarians and the resources available.
This venture would not have happened without seed money from Carnegie Corporation of New York and without the leadership of its President Vartan Gregorian, a true friend of libraries.
