2010 MLB All Star Game: This game has got potential

Check out the roster for tonight's MLB All Star Game, and you might notice some interesting facts.

In the American League (AL), Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer, the leading All Star vote-getter, joins Hall of Famer Rod Carew (1975, 1977-78) as the only other Twins player to lead all of MLB in votes. Additionally, Tampa Bay Rays' third baseman, Evan Longoria, joins an elite club as a repeat starter at the AL third base position. Other repeat starters at third base include Hall of Famers Brooks Robinson (1971-74), George Brett (1976-86), Wade Boggs (1987-1996) and Cal Ripken Jr. (1997-2001), along with Alex Rodriguez (2004-08). 

As for the National League (NL), Chase Utley, second baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies, was awarded his fifth straight election by fans, a feat only surpassed by two others in the position, Hall of Famers Joe Morgan (1972-78) and Ryne Sandberg (1986-93). With regards to shortstop, Hanley Ramirez of the Florida Marlins was elected as a starter for the third year in a row, marking his as the longest uninterrupted streak at that position in the NL since Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith's streak from 1983-92.
